Palau La Maddalena ferry with car
On the Palau Maddalena ferry you can embark with cartrucks, motorhomes, motorbikes and bicycles. There are approximately 390 passenger spaces and the garage has about 90 places between cars and trucks.
Holiday passenger cars as well as courier and freight trucks are loaded onto the ferry.
Are 90 places a lot or a few? It depends. During the high season - July and August - I recommend buying your car ticket early, especially if you have connections to catch with buses, trains or planes. That way you can be sure of boarding.

How long is the crossing?
The crossing takes about 20 minutes. It is possible to enjoy the crossing on the open-air decks or take shelter indoors in case the weather is not favourable. A bar service is available during the crossing.
How early do I have to arrive?
Embarking by car
To embark with your car, you must arrive 15-20 minutes before the departure time and stand in the embarkation area as you will be instructed by stewards at the port
Packaging without a car
If you arrive in Palau by car but need to embark on foot, we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes earlier to find parking, especially in the summer months. There are two large paid parking spaces a few hundred metres from the port, so you can also reach the embarkation point on foot.
We recommend that you bring coins for the machine as it does not accept cash cards.
Do I have to buy online?
It is not compulsory to purchase the ticket online. However, it is highly recommended to purchase the ticket online during the months of May to October.
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased at the Palau maritime station or at the La Maddalena ticket office.
Both can be found in ports near the embarkation points
Can I reserve a particular seat?
The crossing is short so it is not possible to reserve a particular seat.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, you can take your dog on board as long as you have a leash and muzzle.
Can I take a bicycle on board?
Yes, for a small supplement. See online booking for updated rates
What services will I find on the ferry?
I Palau La Madalena Ferries are small passenger ships with all the basic amenities. There is a bar where you can enjoy a cappuccino and croissant or break your hunger with snacks, sandwiches and sandwiches.
There are also toilets on board and all the elements to ensure the safety of passengers such as a doctor on board.
Wheelchair-accessible lifts are also provided.
During the crossing, it is possible - and indeed highly recommended - to stay on the open deck of the ferry in order to enjoy the crossing, the sea and the coastal scenery.

Good morning, I have a ticket purchased on 20/09/2023 for the trip La Maddalena - Palau scheduled for 25/09/2023. I only now read that the date on the ticket is 20 September, and not 25 September. However, on the back of the ticket it says 'valid for the current year'. S

How much can a crossing with the 7.30-length motorhome and 2 adults cost?
Good evening August 2023 I took the ferry from Palau to the island of La Maddalena with my SUV and four people including myself and I paid €60 for a one-day outward and return journey.
PS I bought my ticket at the port of Palau.
