Palau La Maddalena Ferries 2025: Departure Times
The town of La Maddalena is located on the island of the same name and can only be reached by sea. In Palau, there is a small harbor offering connections to many other destinations, but particularly there are the routes of the Palau La Maddalena ferries.
*Guaranteed departures even in case of a strike *The 10:00 am departure is dedicated to the transport of dangerous goods: maximum number of passengers that can be transported: 25
On the Palau Maddalena ferry, it is possible to embark with a car, trucks, campers, motorcycles, and bicycles. The capacity for passengers is about 390 and the garage has approximately 90 spots for cars and trucks.
On the ferry both passenger cars on vacation and trucks for carriers and freight transport are loaded.
Are 90 spots many or few? It depends. During high season - July and August - I recommend buying the car ticket in advance, especially if you have connections to catch with buses, trains, or planes. This way, you'll be sure to embark.
The crossing lasts about 20 minutes. You can enjoy the navigation on the open decks or take shelter inside if the weather is not favorable. The bar service is active during the crossing.
Embarking with a car To embark with a car, you need to arrive 15-20 minutes before the scheduled departure and position yourself in the boarding area as indicated by the stewards at the port.
Embarking without a car If you arrive in Palau with a car but need to board on foot, we recommend arriving at least 30 minutes early to find parking, especially in the summer months. There are two large paid parking areas located a few hundred meters from the port, making it possible to reach the boarding area on foot. We recommend bringing coins for the ticket machine as it does not accept debit cards.
The Palau La Maddalena ferries are small passenger ships with all essential services. You can indeed find the bar to enjoy cappuccino and croissants or satisfy your hunger with snacks, sandwiches, and rolls.
On board, there are also restrooms and all elements to ensure passenger safety, such as a doctor on board.
Additionally, there are accessible boarding areas for wheelchairs.
