The Nuragic Monument Su Tempiesu

The sacred spring Su Tempiesu is located in Barbagia and is an extraordinarily beautiful Nuragic monument situated near Orune, in the province of Nuoro, in central Sardinia, in a place known as sa Costa ‘e Sa Binza.

Su Tempiesu is an archaeological site easily accessible from the village of Orune, via approximately 4-5 km of paved road. To see the monument that dates back to the Bronze Age, you then need to walk a stretch of road.

The monument and the sacred spring

One of the most evocative aspects of the archaeological site Su Tempiesu is undoubtedly the spring which is reached via a botanical path that takes about 15 minutes to walk.

The botanical path

A delightful walk in the woods where you can admire endemic plant species typical of the Mediterranean scrub, such as juniper and myrtle. The plants are easily identifiable thanks to detailed signage.

The wildlife path

After visiting the sacred spring, you return via the wildlife path with a walk of about 20-30 minutes. Along the route, you can admire signage that illustrates and describes the animals of the forest.
