Snorkeling in Golfo Aranci
Golfo Aranci is a zone of great natural interest with rich underwater life and unique landscapes in the world. Snorkeling activities in Golfo Aranci are led by experienced guides who explain the peculiarities of the flora and fauna you will encounter.
Generally, you'll find schools of fish (bream, mullet, and damselfish), colorful starfish, and sea urchins. Sometimes snorkeling also provides extraordinary encounters with groupers, moray eels, octopuses, and less common fish.

Golfo Aranci is located in a strategic position: on one side Tavolara and Molara, on the other Capo Figari and just beyond Porto Cervo. By renting a rubber boat or a yacht, you can access those magical places that have made the Emerald Coast a renowned destination for the stars all over the world.
Often on the islet of Figarolo, among the junipers and Mediterranean scrub, you can spot the mouflons that inhabit the island and, in late summer, the grey herons resting on the ridges ready to embark on their migratory journey.
Visit to the Church of the Madonna del Monte
The road from Golfo Aranci to Porto Rotondo is rich in panoramic viewpoints to stop with the car to admire a wonderful landscape: the Gulf of Marinella. With one glance, we can enjoy Cala Sabina, Marinella beach, and even take our gaze to Mortoriotto.
Along the way, just before the junction for Porto Rotondo, if we're attentive we can notice a small road leading to The Madonna del Monte, a panoramic plateau where you can lose sight from Tavolara to… Corsica! Try it, or rather... climb to believe!
Excursion to Pozzo Milis
The sacred well Milis is located in Golfo Aranci along the railway leading to Baracconi and Cala Moresca. The Pozzo Milis dates back to the 2nd millennium BC and is considered one of the most important sacred wells in the area, although it has not yet been enhanced. The external portion shows partial modifications compared to its original use since it is near the colony.
The interior underground chamber of the well remains intact, with the staircase leading to the water clearly visible, and the internal ceiling covering is very suggestive as it reproduces an inverted staircase seen from below. The Pozzo Di Milis of Golfo Aranci is one of the largest sacred wells known in Sardinia, some speculate it was originally two stories high, and has the unique peculiarity of being by the sea.
Cemetery of the English
The cemetery of the English in Golfo Aranci is located near Cala Greca at the foot of Capo Figari. Walking along a path immersed in Mediterranean scrub, with a 10-minute walk from Cala Moresca, you reach a quiet and secluded place where about 13 graves, an altar, and a pyramidal-shaped parallelepiped with an engraved plaque are kept. The name of the place is given by the presence of a Celtic cross engraved with “To the sacred memory of George Bradshaw – died 12 June 1900 – aged 18 years – H.M.S.Vulcan”.
In reality, it is the only headstone in the cemetery attributable to a sailor of Her Majesty's British Navy. Other headstones have been laid to remember the sailors gathered at Cala Greca following the shipwreck of a sailing vessel and buried here at the end of the 1800s. It is said that the remains of some golfarancini inhabitants, whose traces have been lost in the mists of time, may also lie here.
Battery of Golfo Aranci
At the summit of Punta Filasca near Cala Moresca is the area of the Coastal Battery built during World War I. Today the positions carved into the rock, with the anchor bolts for large-caliber cannons, are well preserved and visible. The magazine that is said to have been indispensable for ammunition supply for the forward defense of the coast is also easily identifiable.
A visit to the Battery of Golfo Aranci with the cliff by the sea offers a 180-degree view of the horizon, suggesting reflections on the life of the time and the defense methods implemented. On the summit of Punta Filasca, a large dipole is still present, clearly visible and preserved.
