About

The Nuraghe Sorolo stands majestically in the tranquility of the Sardinian countryside, precisely in the municipality of Birori, in the province of Nuoro. This imposing megalithic structure, dating back to the Bronze Age, represents one of the many secrets that the Sardinian territory jealously guards. The nuraghe, with its conical shape and sturdy basalt stones, stands out for its harmonious integration with the surrounding landscape, dominated by lush green hills and Mediterranean scrub, creating an almost magical atmosphere.

As one approaches the nuraghe, one can notice the signs of time that have passed through these ancient walls: the moss creeping between the cracks of the stones, the irregular shapes of the blocks, and openings that look like eyes toward the sky. The structure consists of a main tower, flanked by a series of rooms and corridors that intertwine, telling stories of people who lived here centuries ago. Visitors can imagine the buzz of voices, the rituals, and the celebrations that took place within these walls, enveloped by the echo of history.

The nuraghe is surrounded by a breathtaking panorama: rolling hills, fields of golden wheat, and, in the distance, the outline of the Gennargentu mountains. This place is not just an archaeological site, but an invitation to reflect on the past, to be carried away by the emotion of a distant era. The beauty of the Nuraghe Sorolo lies not only in its grandeur but also in its ability to connect the present with a mysterious past, creating a bond that touches the heart of anyone who ventures among these ancient stones.
