About

Set in the heart of Sardinia, the Nuraghe Camboni rises majestically in the town of Perdaxius, a small village located in the province of Carbonia-Iglesias. This archaeological site, dating back to the Bronze Age, is one of the many nuraghi scattered across the island, but Camboni stands out for its unique structure and the mysterious charm that surrounds it.

The nuraghe features a central tower, surrounded by cyclopean walls made of enormous stone blocks, perfectly interlocked without the use of mortar. The structure, which reaches about six meters, is accessible through an ancient inclined corridor, leading to an inner chamber, where the play of light creates intriguing shadows, evoking stories from a distant past. The walls, marked by time and wear, tell of rituals and celebrations that once took place among its stones.

Surrounding the nuraghe is lush vegetation typical of the Mediterranean maquis, with lentisk and strawberry trees framing the landscape, creating a fascinating contrast with the cool tones of the rocks. The air is filled with scents of aromatic herbs and wet earth, while the song of birds accompanies visitors on a journey through time.

The view from the nuraghe is spectacular: one can admire the surrounding countryside dotted with vineyards and olive groves, and on the clearest days, the deep blue of the sea stretching out to the horizon. This place is not just a historical monument, but a sensory experience, an invitation to be swept away by the legends and mysteries of an era that continues to live in the hearts and minds of those who visit Sardinia.
