All set for Time in Jazz 2025: music, art and culture in Sardinia
The thirty-eighth edition of Time in Jazz, the famous festival conceived and directed by Paolo Fresu, is on the starting blocks. It will take place from 8 to 16 August 2025 in Berchidda and various locations in northern Sardinia. This year's edition, inspired by the iconic song 'What a Wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong, will be a hymn to beauty and hope, interweaving music, art, literature, territorial enhancement and civil commitment.
For the first time in its history, the festival will also extend into September: on the 5th and 6th, in fact, two extra open-air days are planned at Sa colte 'e su 'oltiju, in Berchidda, with concerts and cultural initiatives. Details of this extension will be announced shortly on the official website.
An exceptional cast of Italian and international names
The beating heart of the event remains Piazza del Popolo in Berchidda, where artists of the calibre of Stefano Bollani, Enrico Rava, Danilo Rea, the Mare Nostrum trio with Paolo Fresu, Richard Galliano, and Jan Lundgren, as well as Trentemøller, Ze in the Clouds, Svaneborg Kardyb, and the extraordinary Les Amazones d'Afrique, who will take the stage in a free concert on the night of Ferragosto, will perform.
The festival will also involve numerous other municipalities - including Arzachena, Alà dei Sardi, Budoni, San Teodoro, Tempio Pausania and Ozieri - with performances by artists such as Nick The Nightfly, Simona Molinari, Paola Turci, Ivan Segreto, Duo Bottasso, Eleonora Strino, Ettore Fioravanti, Monica Demuru, Natalio Mangalavite, GeGè Telesforo and many others.
Events for young and old: Time to Read and Time to Children
Among the side events are two special projects: Time to Read, dedicated to books and culture, and Time to Children, designed for children.
The literary programme includes meetings with authors such as Gianrico Carofiglio, Alessandro Bergonzoni, Stefano Zenni, Nicola Muscas, Stefano Senardi and Danilo Rea. The activities will take place at Sa Casara and will culminate with a preview of the Time in Jazz Diary 2024 photo book.
The route for children will offer creative workshops, performances and playful-educational activities, involving experts such as Gloria Campaner, Sonia Peana, Giorgio Minardi, Giancarlo Biffi, André Casaca, Simone Mura and others.
Discovering Sardinia with 'One More Hour
The Un'ora in più initiative proposes moments of exploration of the territory, with guided tours, tastings and meetings that enhance local history, culture and landscape, encouraging an authentic dialogue between music and the places that host it.
