Cala Coticcio, also known as Tahiti, is one of the most famous beaches on the island of Caprera in the Maddalena archipelago, located off the northeastern coast of Sardinia. Since the Maddalena archipelago is a National Park, the preservation of the natural environment is a priority. To maintain the beauty and uniqueness of this place, access to Cala Coticcio is actually limited and regulated.

Maximum number of people

Daily access is allowed for a maximum of 60 people at Cala Coticcio and 60 people at Cala Brigantina.

How to pay for the entrance ticket to Cala Coticcio

The procedure to pay for the entrance ticket to Cala Coticcio and Cala Brigantina is not simple and is very bureaucratic. Therefore, we will try to explain the steps clearly.

The guided tours start at the following times:
first shift: from 8 to 13
second shift: from 9 to 14
third shift: from 13:30 to 18:30
fourth shift: from 14 to 19

How to book a guide for Cala Coticcio

The TA areas of Cala Brigantina and Cala Coticcio are designated as areas of significant natural interest and require strict protection, so they are not freely accessible. In fact, it is only allowed to reach these trails in the company of an authorized hiking environmental guide. Sanctions are imposed in case of violation of these regulatory provisions.

The La Maddalena Park has selected nearly 40 guides registered in the relevant registers and with the necessary skills to take you to this little wonderful corner of Sardinia between sea and nature. The Environmental Hiking Guides (GAE) are the only ones authorized to accompany visitors on the trails of Cala Coticcio and Cala Brigantina. Here is the updated list

Regulations for Cala Coticcio

To maximize the protection of Cala Coticcio and Cala Brigantina, the Park Authority has established regulations with a few simple obligations to respect:

it is forbidden to disturb animals
collect flowers, endemic or endangered plants
introduce animal species foreign to the existing fauna
collect stones, fossils
engage in sports activities with motor vehicles
abandon personal items
post advertising signs

Other important rules to remember

smoking is not allowed
bringing disposable plates, cutlery, and glasses is not permitted
placing umbrellas is not allowed
using beach towels is only allowed if placed over a mat that does not collect sand
you must rinse clothes and footwear before leaving the beach
