Budelli Island is located north of Spargi and is mostly uninhabited, except for the beach keeper. Budelli is home to the symbol of the park, the famous Rosa beach, a true natural monument. The colour of the sand is mainly given by skeletons of bryozoans (predominantly Miriapora truncata) and foraminifera (predominantly Miniacina miniacea) that give the sand an intense texture. The fame of the pink beach is also due to some scenes in the film Deserto Rosso by Michelangelo Antonioni. This area enjoys full protection, as access to the pink beach is not permitted in order to preserve its beauty and protect its delicate ecosystem. Read the protection measures ordered by the Park Authority to safeguard Budelli's Pink Beach.
