Snorkelling Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area from Villasimius
The tour includes two snorkelling stops near theIsola dei Cavoligenerally, weather permitting, in Cala Stellina Bay o Cala di Scasciu. Another stop, depending on the weather conditions, is planned at the Our Lady of the Shipwreckeda statue at a depth of about 10-12 m, about 3 m in size, a famous local attraction. If weather conditions do not allow for the planned snorkelling stops, the tour will head towards Punta Molentis and the Secca dei Pesci Balestra.
During this excursion the snorkelling guide will describe all the particularities of the flora and fauna you will encounter. The Marine Protected Area we are going to visit is characterised by an incredibly flourishing fauna with typical fish species present in the Mediterranean and Sardinian seas.
We will encounter octopus, bream, salps, giltheads, mullet, moray eels, giltheads, bream, croakers, groupers and colourful sponges. You will see and get to know Posidonia oceanicaa fundamental plant for the ecosystem. Also of note is the presence of Pinna nobilis, the largest bivalve mollusc in the Mediterranean.
The imposing granite and the intoxicating scent of the Mediterranean scrub complete the visit. Sometimes during this excursion it is also possible to spot the dolphins that inhabit these enchanting waters.
